What's on the card, and what's behind it
A flashcard app that knows French: it shows the article, the gender and the awkward forms, and it brings each word back when you're about to forget it.

6,000+ words, A1 to C2
The words come from the most common first, level by level. Study the whole list, one level, or only the words with an example sentence.
-
New words at your pace
Choose 25, 50, 100 or 200 new words a day. Reached the day's limit and feeling good? Ask for more.

-
Spaced repetition
Grade each card Again, Hard, Good or Easy, and the next review is set to land just before you'd forget. A card you can wait three weeks for counts as learned.
-
Both directions
French to English, and English to French. Each direction has its own schedule and its own daily new words, because recognising a word and producing it are different skills.
-
One screen, one card
Counters show what's due, new, learning and learned; tap one to see its words. Reload the page and you're back on the same card.
The details learners trip on
-
Gender and article, every time
A noun always comes with its article and its gender, and a noun for a person with its feminine form. La maison, un voisin, une voisine.
-
Irregulars, out in the open
Irregular plurals, adjective forms and verb tables show on the card itself, so cheval gets its chevaux and aller its vais, vas, va.
-
Find any word, in any form
Search finds a word from a conjugated verb, a feminine form, with or without the accents, with or without the article.
-
Hear it
Tap Listen to hear a word, slowly, normally or at double speed, or have each word said when it comes up.
